Wintermute CEO Opposes Prediction Market Insider Trading: Exploiting uninformed users' benefits lacks ethics

January 6th. Wintermute founder and CEO Evgeny Gaevoy stated that he is against insider trading in prediction markets. If insider trading is normalized, it will be beautified as a feature rather than a loophole, which would be very regrettable. He holds a very low opinion of those who engage in insider trading on platforms like Polymarket or Kalshi. In a reposted post, it was also mentioned that even if you just catch a whiff of non-public information, you should resolutely avoid trading in that market. Perhaps insider traders may escape punishment, or perhaps not, but taking this risk is not worth it. Insider traders may find themselves behind bars for insider trading on Polymarket. Knowing they can't lose but still speculating is extremely unethical, extracting profit from those in the dark.
