Square Launches BTC Payment Feature, Serving Over 4 Million Merchants in 8 Countries

November 11th, Payment giant Square has launched a Bitcoin payment feature, allowing merchants to activate it on the POS side. Currently, it only supports offline and in-person payments, with online and invoicing functions in development. The official announcement states that there will be no transaction fees for receiving payments until 2027, after which a fee of 1% is expected. Currently, the Square ecosystem covers 8 countries and over 4 million merchants. Some users have reported experiencing this feature at a coffee shop in the United States, with the Cash App simultaneously launching a global BTC merchant map. (Cointelegraph)
