Coinbase plans to return to India after obtaining regulatory registration with India’s Financial Intelligence Agency

The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has obtained registration from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of India, paving the way for its return to the Indian market. Coinbase plans to reintroduce trading services and will start offering retail services later this year. The company began withdrawing from the Indian market in 2022 due to regulatory pressure and closed the new user registration channel in 2023, continuing to provide wallet services only to Indian citizens.
